SUMMIT, Ill. (WGN) – The former Summit Chief of Police has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for accepting money from a local businessman to help facilitate the transfer of a liquor license.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois said in December of 2025, 58-year-old John Kosmowski of Lockport, Illinois was convicted of bribery conspiracy, bribery and obstruction of justice.
