Man released as federal probe targets Black Walnut poaching

JAY, Okla. – A Kansas man arrested on Thursday in connection with a federal investigation was released from the Delaware County jail on Friday.

Kendell Jackson, 43, of Wichita, was being held on two outstanding warrants. He posted $2,000 bail and was released, the sheriff’s office confirmed on Friday.

The federal investigation is believed to center around the illegal harvesting of black walnut trees. However, the U.S. Department of Wildlife would not confirm any details of the seven raids on Thursday in Delaware, Ottawa and Nowata counties.
