FBI Denver and Cheyenne Police Department announce temporary no drone zone for CFD

CHEYENNE – The Cheyenne Police Department and Denver FBI held a joint news conference Friday morning to announce a temporary no drone zone for the duration of Cheyenne Frontier Days, from July 17–26.

FBI Denver Assistant Special Agent in Charge Tyler McCurdy said that the temporary flight restrictions have a radius of two nautical miles and altitude of 400 feet. The map of the no fly zones can be found on the Federal Aviation Administration’s website.

“The bottom line is do not fly your drone near the event,” McCurdy said. “The FBI and Federal Air Marshal Service are going to be working with the Cheyenne Police Department to identify drones operating illegally, locate and contact their operators, and take appropriate actions to mitigate the activity.”…
