LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WKRC) — Three people are facing child endangerment charges after Pennsylvania state police said a 5-year-old boy escaped a bedroom that had been sealed with wooden boards, a zip-tied baby gate and duct tape before he was found walking naked in the middle of a road.
Troopers responded around 7:30 a.m. July 10 after receiving reports of the child walking alone on a road in Swatara Township. Good Samaritans stayed with the boy until first responders arrived, and he was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Investigators identified the home the child had escaped and said they found hoarding conditions throughout the residence. Troopers reported the boy’s bedroom had a baby gate attached to the outside of the doorway with numerous zip ties and duct tape.
