LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – André Bottoms Sr. will become the first Black chief of police in Shively Police Department’s history when he is sworn in Monday at Shively City Hall.
Bottoms brings 35 years of service across the Marine Corps, Louisville Metro Police, and Shively PD, where he has served as a major for the past three years. He grew up in Shively and has called the community home for most of his life.
