SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Showers and thunderstorms are possible early in the morning and off and on throughout the day. Some of these storms could pack strong winds and heavy downpours, so localized street flooding is possible in low-lying areas. It’ll be breezy out there too, with south winds gusting up to around 25 mph.
As we move into Monday, the rain chances could drop as the Low Pressure over the Gulf pushes to the Northwest, away from the Suncoast. It’ll stay breezy with south-southwest winds gusting around 20 to 25 mph. Tuesday a few widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, are possible, but activity will die down. Winds will still be noticeable from the south-southwest. By Tuesday, the system will start to move away, and we’ll see some improvement. Showers and thunderstorms will become more scattered and mainly confined to the morning hours. Wednesday through Friday will see the pattern continue to dry out, with only isolated afternoon storms possible and more sunshine breaking through. Winds will gradually decrease as the week progresses.
