A round of severe storms could sweep across the Chicago area on Monday evening, bringing threats of damaging winds, flash flooding and brief tornadoes. However, it’s unclear how widespread the storms may be, and some communities may remain in the clear entirely.
Severe thunderstorms are possible beginning in the evening through the overnight hours, meteorologists said, with the Storm Prediction Center placing the region under a slight to enhanced risk for severe weather – levels 2 and 3 out of 5.
