Karoline Leavitt’s recent return to the political spotlight was met with a wave of online criticism after she boldly claimed that she “likes to speak the truth” during a speech at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas. The gathering aimed to highlight President Donald Trump’s accomplishments and energize voters ahead of the upcoming November elections.
Leavitt’s remark came with dramatic flair: after calling the U.S. “the best country in the world,” she paused before declaring, “Here’s another harsh truth for you: I like to speak the truth.” However, rather than rallying support, her statement sparked swift backlash on social media, with many users responding with skepticism and derision.
One critic on the platform X wrote harshly, “You don’t know what the truth is. You’re a liar and a horrible person,” questioning how her actions have impacted the country and future generations.

Leavitt’s speech marked her first major public appearance since stepping down from her role as White House press secretary in August, shortly after returning from maternity leave. “It feels good to be back behind a podium,” Leavitt said. “It feels much better speaking to a stadium full of patriots than a briefing room full of journalists.”

She described her time working for Trump as the “honor of a lifetime” and urged attendees to support Republican candidates to help extend the former president’s agenda.
“President Trump only has two more years of being the leader of our great nation, and God bless him. But he needs your support to vote for Republicans up and down the ballot so he can continue his efforts to make America great again,” she emphasized.
Leavitt’s departure from the White House came months after she resumed her duties following the birth of her second child in May. As of now, no permanent successor has been named to fill her former role.
