Omaha Woman Killed, 3 Listed Injured in Arion Train Crash

ARION, Iowa — A 24-year-old Omaha woman died and three people were listed as injured after a Jeep was struck by a Union Pacific train at a railroad crossing in Arion at 12:59 a.m. July 19, 2026, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The crash happened at Grace Street and the Union Pacific railroad crossing on the northwest side of Highway 30, the report said.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee came to rest in a ditch between the tracks and Highway 30. The vehicle had four adults and one minor child inside, and all five occupants were taken to Crawford County Memorial Hospital…
