ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Neighbors of the 11th ward gathered Saturday to celebrate the United States’ 250th year with all the classic American cookout staples.
Dozens of residents lined Broadway in Rockford for an afternoon of food, music, games and community.
The picnic was put on by volunteers of Salem Lutheran Church Neighborhood Watch Group, hoping to foster a sense of community.
