Two crowded American nightlife districts became emergency scenes within hours of each other after shootings in downtown Tucson, Arizona, and Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood left 19 people injured, including a suspected gunman shot by police.
The clearest confirmed count is nine civilian victims in Tucson, nine civilian victims in Minneapolis, and the Tucson suspect, who was critically wounded by an officer. No deaths had been reported in either attack in the latest available updates.
Although the incidents occurred on the same morning and shared troubling similarities, authorities have disclosed no evidence connecting them. What emerged instead were two separate investigations involving crowded streets, rapidly changing casualty counts, hospital searches, witness videos and unanswered questions about what caused the gunfire.
