PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A two-day enforcement mission aimed at curbing a recent rise in gun violence led to nearly a dozen arrests and the recovery of multiple firearms, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The mission was conducted July 17-18 and focused on areas seeing an increase in gun violence. PPB said officers recovered seven firearms, made 11 arrests, issued seven citations, towed 10 vehicles, and conducted parole compliance checks.
“This mission demonstrates what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together with a shared commitment to reducing gun violence and protecting our community,” said PPB Chief Bob Day. “We remain committed to holding violent offenders accountable while continuing to build safer neighborhoods through proactive enforcement and strong partnerships.”…
