NAPANOCH — A 35-year-old incarcerated man died early Saturday after a fire broke out inside his cell at Eastern Correctional Facility, according to the New York State Police.
A preliminary investigation found that the fire started at approximately 1:40 a.m. Facility staff extinguished it and discovered Marcos Alcaraz inside the cell, police said.
Alcaraz was transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding Alcaraz’s death remain under investigation…
