Driver arrested following traffic stop for failure to move over for ISP vehicle

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — An Illinois man was arrested in Knox County after Indiana State Police say he failed to move over for a stopped trooper and showed signs of impairment during a traffic stop.

Police say the stop happened Sunday evening on northbound U.S. 41 near Camp Arthur Road, where the ISP trooper was parked on the right shoulder with emergency lights activated. ISP says a blue SUV approached in the right lane and passed the trooper’s vehicle without changing lanes, despite there being no other vehicles preventing the driver from moving over.

The trooper stopped the SUV and identified the driver as 58-year-old Anthony L. Mason of Illinois. During the stop, Hurley observed signs of impairment and obtained a search warrant as part of the investigation, according to police…
