Erie’s Public Schools Sharing School Wellness Success With Districts Across the Region

Erie’s Public Schools are being recognized for major strides in student wellness and are now sharing those strategies with other school districts across Erie County.

The district hosted a regional wellness conference as part of a five-year Pennsylvania Department of Health grant funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. State school wellness consultants selected Erie’s Public Schools to serve as a model district, with the goal of improving student wellness, because wellness matters when it comes to doing well in school.

Kaitlyn Falk, district wellness manager for Erie’s Public Schools said, “We know that healthy students are better learners, so by getting our students moving, by providing them with the best nutrition, we know that they can be better learners but also just make our community overall healthier.”…
