MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Gov. Kay Ivey has announced more than $3.6 million of state funding for 11 local road improvement projects.
The Alabama Department of Transportation grants come from a program created by a $0.10 gas tax increase in 2019. That uptick, called the Rebuild Alabama Act, requires the state to reserve $10 million of gas tax revenue for local projects annually.
