It is well known I am not a fan of the Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association, with their self-serving and wasteful ways.
I have publicly questioned their close association with and sponsorship by Amazon. In my opinion—and according to their own mission statement—the DSBIA’s sole job is to help local businesses. They should not give power to Amazon and actively promote them on their website and all public promotional flyers and posters. How insanely backwards is that?
I have also questioned their salary-to-actual-work-getting-done ratio. It is completely lopsided, with folks getting paid while downtown businesses are not being helped…
