CARRIZO SPRINGS, Tx. –Tallahassee’s swiftwater rescue team got right to work as it arrived in Texas to help with flooding rescues. The team checked in at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio at about 12:30 p.m. Friday before being sent toward South Texas communities threatened by rising floodwaters.
FL-TF7’s Swiftwater Team was deployed toward the Crystal City area around 2 p.m., but was diverted en route to Carrizo Springs, southwest of San Antonio.
The team spent the day conducting reconnaissance, gathering intelligence and assisting local officials with areas of concern. FL-TF7 also supported a local utility company near Soldier Slough, where rising floodwaters were impacting the area…
