Lerner and Loewe musical combines romance, Scottish dancing and a full live orchestra under the stars
KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. — A mysterious Scottish village that appears only once every 100 years will come to life this week as The Brandywiners Ltd. presents “Brigadoon” on the Main Stage at Longwood Gardens.
Performances of the classic Lerner and Loewe musical are scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, through Saturday, July 25, with each show beginning at 8 p.m.
Set in the Scottish Highlands, “Brigadoon” follows two American travelers who discover an enchanted village untouched by time. When one of the men falls in love with a young woman who lives there, he must decide whether to return to the life he knows or remain in a place that will soon disappear into the mist for another century…
