NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Canal levels are being lowered, drainage pump stations are being staffed and floodgates are scheduled to close as southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast prepare for a tropical system expected to approach Wednesday.
Tropical Depression Two remained just below tropical storm strength Monday afternoon. If it strengthens as forecast, it would become Tropical Storm Bertha.
