BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Among the numerous summer camps that aim to help kids enjoy their time out of school, one in particular helps campers in a unique way — a free camp that seeks to make lifelong impacts for children dealing with grief.
For children at Bristol Hospice Camp, grief looks like being a kid again.

“They get to play in the lake, they get to go swimming. There’s basketball, hockey. They get to rock climb,” said Cindy Lyday, the executive director for the camp.
The camp is for kids between the ages of 6 to 16 who have lost their loved ones. It gives them a chance to connect with one another on different levels…
