INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis metro police are investigating after a shooting at an apartment on the city’s northwest side left a “young adult male” critically injured Monday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded around 7:51 p.m. to the 4800 block of Covered Bridge Road, the listed address for Covered Bridge Apartments, after receiving reports that an individual was possibly shot in the area.
IMPD Capt. Richard Ray confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 on the scene of the shooting that officers arrived and discovered what he described as a “young” male suffering from gunshot wounds. At this time, police believe the shooting originally occurred inside one of the units at Covered Bridge Apartments.
The shooting victim was immediately transported to an area hospital for medical treatment as an investigation got underway. Ray said detectives have a person of interest in custody. It remains unclear what role, if any, they may have allegedly had in the shooting…
