Around 2025, Ivan Carnero and Angel Arreola began a huge project to build an upper-scale authentic Mexican restaurant with a dining area, entertainment stage and huge parking lot on Sixth Avenue in Amarillo.
The space they chose was a former, popular honky-tonk on Sixth Avenue which had been the home for Marshall’s and Austin’s among other venues. But, through the years, it had become damaged and broken up with walls falling in and piles of messes had accumulated, Carnero and Arreola told the Amarillo Globe-News on Aug. 5, 2025.
But somehow, the ambitious duo saw beyond the demolished wreckage and envisioned a 5,000-square-foot dining area featuring a bar and entertainment, much like the first-class establishments they took inspiration from in Mexico, with decorative arches containing colorful murals with LED lighting around them…
