A cold front is moving in a bit earlier than expected Tuesday, easing the dangerous heat and humidity that have gripped the Kansas City area, the National Weather Service said.
Leftover showers and thunderstorms early Tuesday, moving in from southwest Iowa, should break up and end by mid-morning, the weather service said. A few spots could get brief bursts of heavy rain. The storms will give way to mostly clear skies in the afternoon, except for some haze from wildfire smoke.
