BLOOMINGTON, MN — A crash involving three vehicles on Interstate 494 in Bloomington turned fatal early Saturday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The collision happened at 4:18 a.m. near Highway 100 in the far right lanes of westbound traffic.
State Patrol says a 25-year-old man driving a Honda CR-V and a 64-year-old man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee were both headed west when the two SUVs collided. After that, the Jeep ended up in the left lane facing the median and was struck by a semi-truck driven by a 49-year-old man.
How The Crash Unfolded
Investigators say the Honda CR-V was traveling in the far right lane and the Jeep was in the center right lane before the impact. The exact reason the two vehicles hit each other has not been released.
After the Jeep came to rest in the left lane, the semi-truck hit it, adding a third vehicle to the wreck. State Patrol described the outcome as fatal.
