Bakersfield Southwest DMV office to begin monthslong closure July 24

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Southwest DMV office will close for about three months for renovations beginning on Friday, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

The office located at 7000 Schirra Court will close starting at 5 p.m. Friday, July 24. It is expected to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, according to officials.

Renovations will include flooring replacement, modular systems furniture reconfiguration and replacement, fresh interior and exterior paint, exterior signage replacement and parking lot resurfacing.

Until the office reopens, customers can visit the following locations:

  • Bakersfield: 3120 F St.
  • Arvin: 317 Campus Dr.
  • Taft: 165 Center St. – open on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Delano: 631 Jefferson St.
