CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – Stacey Ferrer is searching for a solution to help her son and daughter, who have been experiencing ongoing flooding issues at their Chesterfield home over the last several years.
Shortly after moving into the Oak Lawn Street home in Dec. 2018, Ferrer said the property flooded after a heavy downpour.
“The yard flooded quite drastically through the driveway, through the yard, up underneath the house, through the garage,” Ferrer said. “We sort of thought maybe it was a runoff, one of those once-in-a-hundred-year rainstorms,” she said.
What Ferrer believed was a one-time deal is now happening year after year.
Ferrer showed 12 On Your Side how the rainfall passes over several culverts and runs over into the front yard.
“This completely fills up, the water comes through here and is actually overtop of this concrete, and so it’s running through the culvert and also running overtop the culvert and coming over here,” said Ferrer…
