KENNER, La. (WGNO) — A pastor was found guilty in a $340,000 fraud case on Friday, July 17.
According to the Eastern District of Louisiana, 56-year-old Dale Sanders of Kenner was convicted of wire fraud, access device fraud and obstruction of a federal investigation. Sanders took funds and transferred money held in a church’s bank accounts to accounts he controlled. The money was used to fund his personal expenditures, including gambling, dining and living expenses. He also used the church’s debit card for personal transactions.

Sanders was also found guilty of obstructing a federal investigation for providing a falsified record in response to a grand jury subpoena.
Sanders is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 13. He faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or the greater of twice the gross gain or twice the gross loss and up to three years of supervised release after imprisonment…
