SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Sentencing is set for September for a Willard man found guilty of assault and related charges in connection to a shooting that injured a child.
A jury on July 16, 2026, found William Joseph Crouch, 37, guilty of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. Sentencing is set for Sept. 25. He has until Aug. 25 to request a new trial, according to online court records.
Crouch was arrested after Greene County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired into a home in Republic on Aug. 20, 2024. Investigators found one juvenile victim who was struck by a projectile that pierced the home, hitting her in the stomach…
