(KOAM) – A Republic, Missouri, man was sentenced in federal court to more than nine years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Phillip Brad Curtis, 52, was sentenced to 110 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips. Prosecutors said Curtis has prior felony convictions for robbery, domestic assault, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, deputies with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a property near Aurora for a report that Curtis was trespassing. Deputies said they contacted Curtis, who had multiple active felony warrants…
