SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — 8 On Your Side is looking into airports in the Tampa Bay area using private companies for their security screening process. This comes after Tampa International Airport said they’re opting into a new Transportation Security Agency program, TSA Gold+.
There were no lines at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport Tuesday evening.

“Much easier than getting in and out of Tampa Airport. I mean, park the car, walk in, went right through TSA. No problem,” said Matt McQuillan who noted that he travels out of SRQ once a year.
