A Des Moines man has been arrested for felony eluding in Marion County after an 107 mph pursuit.
According to court records, on Monday a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a driver later identified as Michael Hobart of Des Moines, driving southbound on county highway S-45 at 107 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour zone. Upon initiating the lights and siren on the deputy’s marked patrol vehicle and turning around to initiate a traffic stop, he observed the defendant continue southbound at a high rate of speed. The defendant turned westbound and sped away on Nevada Street, prolonging the pursuit and endangering all pedestrians and vehicles on the roadway according to the criminal complaint…
