TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Troy man has been indicted in connection with a May shooting, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office. Rodney Burton, 55, faces several violent felony charges.

Burton is accused of shooting a man on May 26 in the area of Earl Street and Jacob Street in Troy. The 55-year-old had allegedly fled the scene and the victim was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to authorities, Burton was later found in Georgia and extradited to New York. He was indicted on Wednesday on the following charges:

- Second-degree attempted murder
- First-degree attempted assault
- Third-degree assault
- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
He is now being held in jail without bail, according to District Attorney’s Office.
