Indy man convicted of molesting at least two children

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been convicted of multiple child sex crimes after being found guilty of sexually assaulting at least two children.

James Long, 43, was arrested and charged in December 2024 after two children came forward to their parents with allegations against him. He was later booked into the Marion County Jail on charges that included four counts of child molesting.

Then, after a two-day trial ended earlier this week, Long was found guilty of two counts of Level 1 felony child molesting and one count of Level 4 felony child molesting. He is now scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 28, 2026, in Marion Superior Court 31. The sentencing will be imposed by Judge Jeffrey Marchal.

The allegations against Long span several years and involve at least two young children who described being groped, sexually assaulted and forced into sex acts with the 43-year-old suspect…
