Lettuce recall sparks concern in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A major lettuce recall is raising concerns across New York after hundreds of people in the state became sick with a parasitic illness linked to shredded iceberg lettuce.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says a widespread outbreak of cyclosporiasis has been linked to shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms de México. While the agency recently said a lettuce sample that was thought to test positive turned out to be a false positive, the recall remains in place because its investigation still points to Taylor Farms.
