Calling all animal lovers! NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 invite you to find your new best friend at the Humane Society of North Texas’ Mega Adoption Event! Over 1,000 dogs, cats, and small furry pets will be up for adoption, all under one roof! The two-day event takes place on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 16, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall in Fort Worth.
Since the Human Society of North Texas began the Mega Adoption Event nine years ago, over 6,500 pets have found a new home! Annually, the event gathers over 1,000 animals from various participating shelters, all under one roof. In 2025, 760 pets were adopted with more than 25 shelters participating in the event. This year, more than 35 shelters will participate in the Humane Society of North Texas’ 11th Mega event. Adoption fees are $25 or less and include spaying/neutering, microchipping, and age-appropriate vaccinations.
