New affidavits detail alleged Midland real estate scam

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Newly obtained arrest affidavits are providing more details into a Midland real estate fraud investigation involving a Frisco man accused of taking a $12,000 cash down payment for a home, investigators say, he did not own and was not authorized to sell.

Courtney Darell Lister, 50, was arrested Saturday, July 18, on multiple warrants. According to Midland County jail records, he faces charges including real property theft, a second-degree felony; forgery to obtain property, a third-degree felony; theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000, a state jail felony; and fraud involving the sale, rental or lease of residential real property, a first-degree felony.
