(Abbeville, Louisiana) – The Abbeville Fire Department was called out by the Louisiana Department of Transportation to cool down the drawbridge due to the extreme heat in South Louisiana.
According to a social media post by the Abbeville Fire Dept., firefighters were called out to one of the bridges in the town to help cool it down as temperatures soared this week.
The overheating bridge is made of steel, and steel can expand when overheated; thus, it could not be raised or lowered…
