St. Bernard Bust: Deputies Nab Duo In Drug, Hot Truck Case

A narcotics-unit investigation in St. Bernard Parish ended with two men in custody this week after deputies said they uncovered drugs, a stolen pickup and altered vehicle identification. Authorities booked 32-year-old Kordell Moore on Wednesday and 23-year-old Mark Onidas on Thursday following traffic stops in Violet and Poydras, according to the sheriff’s office.

How deputies say the stops unfolded

According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, narcotics-unit agents first pulled over a white Buick SUV on the 1900 block of Goodwill Street in Poydras. Deputies arrested Onidas after finding a switched license plate and suspected narcotics.

Investigators then tracked down a silver GMC Sierra on the 2400 block of Colonial Boulevard in Violet that had been reported stolen in New Orleans. Deputies said the truck carried fraudulent VIN stickers and switched tags. When Moore was taken into custody, they added, he was wearing a GPS ankle monitor.
