Perseids in the Preserves: 8-11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, Forked Creek Preserve — Butcher Lane Access, Florence Township near Wilmington. Watch for shooting stars during the peak of the Perseids meteor shower at one of the District’s darker locations. Bring a chair or blanket and snacks and take a break by the fire to roast a marshmallow. Drop in anytime. All ages; free.
Whooo’s Awake at Tempest Farm?: 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, Tempest Farm, Washington Township. Learn about owls, tour the farm and work together to build an owl box to take home.
