OU Health performs rare dual pulmonary valve procedure

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Physicians at OU Health have successfully performed a rare and technically complex heart procedure that placed two artificial pulmonary valves at the same time.

Experts say the procedure used a minimally invasive catheter-based approach where surgeons implanted the valves in the right and left branch pulmonary arteries, which avoided the need for open heart surgery.
