El Paso County sheriff’s deputy facing DUI charges, placed on administrative leave

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On July 21, Colorado Springs Police Department notified the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) that a deputy with the department was facing multiple charges including driving under the influence.

According to a release from EPCSO, the deputy was identified as 41-year-old David Smith. He has been charged with Driving Under the Influence, Careless Driving, Accident Driving Under the Influence, and Prohibited Use of Weapons.
