Highway 41 wetland permit meeting draws opposition over stormwater concerns

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) — About 50 people attended a public input meeting Wednesday hosted by the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services to discuss wetland impacts on a controversial project.

The majority of those who attended opposed the $250 million Highway 41 project.

Residents are asking DES to deny stormwater permits, and other permits, to stop the planned Laurel Hill Parkway.
