PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Brown University Health’s Dr. Edward McGookin joined 12 News at 4 Wednesday to discuss the state of primary care in Rhode Island.
Although primary care is a difficult business to be in across the country, McGookin said Brown University Health has made tremendous progress in its recent efforts to expand access.

Currently, there are five pediatric primary care offices in the state, which McGookin described as “thriving.” Each have new pediatricians and are accepting new patients.
