Royals fan taken into custody after jumping in fountain for Salvador Perez’s record-tying home run ball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There has been much anticipation for Salvador Perez to pass George Brett’s all-time Kansas City Royals home run record of 317.

Perhaps maybe a little too much anticipation for one fan.

Perez hit the record-tying home run on Wednesday afternoon against the San Francisco Giants into the fountains in the seventh inning.

This prompted one eager Royals fan to jump into the fountain to grab the historic ball and keep it for himself.
