JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The State Attorney’s Office of the Fourth Judicial Circuit has charged a senior living facility employee with exploitation of an aged adult after a criminal referral from the Office of Inspector General, officials said Thursday.
The OIG’s investigation found Annie Marie Grant, who worked at Centennial Towers — a senior living facility owned by the Jacksonville Housing Authority — received residents’ rent money orders, endorsed them in her name and deposited them using a mobile deposit application, the release said.
Interviews and financial records showed at least 18 money orders, totaling $6,201, were misappropriated between May 2021 and April 2022, the OIG said. Evidence included resident interviews, payment receipts, Centennial Towers ledgers and handwritten statements…
