An eventful weekend is looming for San Francisco, including the more than 30,000 runners who are expected at the starting line this weekend for the annual San Francisco Marathon.
Runners will participate in several races, including a 5K, a 10K, two half-marathons and a full marathon, all of which will bring street closures around the city. There are three events on Saturday, July 25, but the majority of the closures will be for the five races on Sunday, including the full marathon that will thread its way across San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge to Fort Baker and back.
Street closures along the 26.2-mile route will start at 9 p.m. on Saturday, lasting until 3 p.m. on Sunday, according to a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency news release.
