Big rig involved in crash left dangling off Katy Fwy near Hwy 99; minor injuries reported: Officials

A major big rig crash left an 18-wheeler dangling off I-10 and sent two people to the hospital on Thursday, according to Harris County officials.

Images from Houston TranStar, which reported the incident at about 10:44 a.m., show the 18-wheeler hanging over the Katy Freeway eastbound at SH-99 Lanier Parkway.

In a social media post, the Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department said the wreck involved two 18-wheelers and caused one of them to fall from the freeway. SkyEye13 flew over the major crash, where the second 18-wheeler could be seen with heavy front-end damage.

Fire officials added that two occupants in the crash were taken to the hospital for treatment. They said only minor injuries were reported…
