ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Doctors in the Roanoke Valley say patients are coming in with more tick bite concerns this summer, and the diseases ticks can carry are drawing increased attention from healthcare providers.
Lauren Canary, a family medicine resident, said she is seeing the trend firsthand in her clinic.
“I work in a primary care clinic, and I’m certainly seeing patients coming out that are concerned,” Canary said. “They are reporting more tick bites and having some concerns about some of the diseases that are transmitted by them. So, it feels like it’s worsened, for sure.”…
