Once a year, members of the New York State DanceForce meet somewhere in the state for panel discussions, workshops, seminars and artist showcases. This summer, the gathering takes place in the Capital Region, and DanceForce member Kim Engel, a longtime local dancer, dance advocate and arts administrator, will host the event.
As part of her role, she’s chosen two companies to offer performances for the members. The goal, says DanceForce director Curt Steinzor, is to “maintain and increase the members’ dance literacy by keeping in touch with what’s going on in the world of dance.” The public is also invited to attend a pair of free performances organized by DanceForce.
